“Whether we die or not, isn't really that big a deal.”
As a child, Suzuya's personality was somewhat normal, albeit a tad twisted, but as a result of Big Madam's treatment, he no longer felt fear, pain, nor did he have any morals. Yukinori Shinohara, his mentor, described him as a problem child. Despite his childish and playful demeanor, he was also extremely violent and highly disturbed. He usually described his killing methods to be clean, without needless movements, which is a skill he seemed to take pride in. He showed no hesitation to kill someone.
1) His profile in the original series lists his likes as sweets, ghoul hunting, and his Mama.
2) The association of Suzuya with the number "13" is a word play: It is possible to write the name "Juuzou" with the kanji 十三 （じゅうさん、juusan）, translating to "thirteen."
3) During Owl Suppression Operation, one of Suzuya's hair clips went missing, reducing his number down to 12 (XII); referencing The Hanged Man, or "change," hinting that he would change in some way.
