Although she was just a modern girl for most of her life, Kagome was strangely unfazed by the horrors, violence, and death in the Warring States era because of her strong spirit. She can be impulsive, jumping into potentially dangerous situations without waiting for help. Her reckless courage is known to "always be in full force". Because of her empathetic, gentle heart, Kagome never hesitates to help those in need of it despite their personality, problems, race, tribe, or appearance, treating all with warmth and respect.
1) Despite her strength, Kagome was the one everyone in the group quickest to defend or worry for, excluding Shippō.
2) In the anime, Kagome is seen as a matchmaker of sorts and meddles in other people's situations if she wants (Miroku and Sango's relationship in particular).
3) In the Final Act's first theme song, the ending shows InuYasha and Kagome with the red string of fate attached to their pinky since they are destined to meet. In the Japanese culture, it is thought to be tied around the little finger/pinky finger.
