"I think it's time we blow this scene.
Get everybody and the stuff together. OK. 3 2 1 Let's jam!"
Spike is slothful, nonchalant, indifferent, and lazy. He passes the vast majority of his time on the Bebop lounging, watching TV, or sleeping. He is a hardened smoker, shown with a cigarette often. Although he rarely acknowledges it, Spike has very little patience. He repeatedly states he hates dogs, children, and women with attitudes, and is anything but happy when each one of the three joins the Bebop, but as the series progressed, he warmed up to Edward, Ein, and Faye. Spike is rarely seen excited about something and, even less frequently, says he likes something.
1) The fight on the bridge between Spike and Abdul Hakim in Episode 2, "Stray Dog Strut," is a homage to the fight scene in Game of Death (1978) between Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. All of Spike's fights feature the use Bruce Lee's "Jeet Kune Do" style of fighting.
2) Almost every episode title refers to a song title, or genre/type of music.
3) Spike regularly uses a Jericho 941 pistol. It is the same pistol seen firing in the opening title sequence.
